Bello made this bold assertion following the high-profile arrest of Uadiale Christiana Jacob, alias “Christy Gold,” a notorious human trafficking kingpin with ties to the Middle East. Christy Gold, wanted for years for trafficking underage Nigerian girls to Dubai for forced prostitution, was apprehended upon her arrival at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport on New Year’s Eve.

According to a statement by NAPTIP spokesperson Vincent Adekoye, the arrest was the result of close collaboration between the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and NAPTIP. Christy Gold, a senior figure in an organized trafficking network, had evaded justice since 2021 after violating bail conditions and fleeing to Dubai.

Authorities revealed that Christy Gold’s accomplices, including Michael Nduka, Osas Wiseman, Vivian, and “Prophet John” in Lagos, remain at large. These individuals are suspected of recruiting victims for her operations.

Bello emphasized that this landmark arrest underscores NAPTIP’s unwavering commitment to eradicating human trafficking and bringing perpetrators to justice. “2025 will be the year traffickers dread,” she warned, reaffirming the agency’s determination to dismantle trafficking networks and protect vulnerable citizens from exploitation and violence.

As the crackdown intensifies, Nigerians can expect a tougher, more resolute stance against trafficking in the coming months.
