NDPHC Strengthens Gender-Inclusive Work Environment For Staff

Adighije, who made history as the first woman to head the company since its establishment in 2005, made the remarks during activities organised to commemorate International Women’s Day 2026. According to Ireporter Online, she explained that the company’s work environment promotes inclusiveness and encourages staff, regardless of gender, to contribute meaningfully to the organisation’s success.

She noted that although she currently serves as the only woman in the company’s executive management team, she has continued to receive strong backing from colleagues across different levels of the organisation. Adighije expressed appreciation for the support she has enjoyed, describing it as remarkable and encouraging, particularly on a day set aside globally to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of women.

The NDPHC chief emphasised that women play a vital role in driving both social and national development. She stressed that empowering women often produces wider benefits for society, noting that while supporting a man may uplift a family, empowering a woman can influence and transform an entire nation.

Reflecting on the theme of this year’s celebration, Adighije highlighted the concept of “give to gain,” explaining that progress in organisations and societies often depends on the willingness of individuals to make sacrifices, offer support and work collaboratively.

She encouraged employees of the company to reflect on how their readiness to contribute through teamwork, dedication and mutual encouragement could shape the gains achieved by both the organisation and the country.

Adighije further stated that the outcomes people enjoy are often determined by the level of effort and commitment they are willing to invest, adding that individuals must recognise the importance of collective responsibility and cooperation in achieving long-term success.

She also urged staff to acknowledge that career growth is rarely achieved in isolation, emphasising the need for colleagues to support and strengthen one another while contributing to the overall progress of the organisation.

In her remarks at the event, guest speaker and veteran broadcast journalist Eugenia Abu encouraged female employees of the company to overcome self-imposed limitations and strive for excellence in their professional pursuits.

Earlier, the Executive Director of Corporate Services at NDPHC, Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, noted that women have played a significant role in the growth and development of the company. He added that the leadership of Adighije has ushered in several positive developments within the organisation and urged female staff members to remain committed to giving their best.

Similarly, the company’s Executive Director of Generation, Abdullahi Kassim, and Executive Director of Legal, Steven Andzenge, commended the contributions of female employees, describing them as vital to the continued growth and success of the organisation.
