New Customs Leadership: Two DCGs and Five ACGs Appointed
Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has officially confirmed the appointment of two Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs) and five Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs). This announcement marks a significant change in the leadership structure of the NCS, reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening its customs operations.
The newly appointed DCGs are tasked with overseeing major aspects of the Customs Service’s functions. Their roles will involve streamlining operations, enhancing revenue collection, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. The addition of these experienced officers is expected to bring a fresh perspective and renewed vigor to the NCS’s efforts in safeguarding Nigeria’s borders and optimizing trade facilitation.
The five new ACGs will also play crucial roles in supporting the DCGs. Their responsibilities will include supervising various departments, implementing policies, and addressing challenges within their respective areas of oversight. This expansion in leadership aims to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the Customs Service’s operations.
These appointments come at a time when the NCS is focused on addressing challenges related to smuggling, revenue leakage, and trade facilitation. By bringing in seasoned professionals to these key positions, the NCS is positioning itself to better tackle these issues and enhance its performance.
The confirmation of these appointments underscores the NCS’s commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational excellence. The new leadership team is expected to bring about significant improvements in the Service’s performance and contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth by ensuring efficient customs operations.
This development is anticipated to have a positive impact on the NCS’s operations, providing the necessary leadership to drive reforms and achieve strategic objectives. As the NCS continues to evolve, the new DCGs and ACGs will play a pivotal role in shaping its future and enhancing its contributions to the nation’s economy.
