During a bilateral meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Tinubu highlighted the importance of deeper cooperation that benefits both nations.
He underscored Nigeria’s willingness to engage in international business partnerships, assuring that ongoing economic reforms aim to create a welcoming environment for foreign investments.
The Nigerian leader noted the mutual enthusiasm among both Nigerian and German leaders to enhance relations, with prior engagements highlighting their commitment to business collaboration.
Tinubu also shared his administration’s initiatives to improve business rankings and develop frameworks that ensure sustained growth for both countries.
At the close of the bilateral discussions, President Tinubu expressed hope for increased interpersonal connections and enhanced economic opportunities at the government level.
“I observed from our earlier meeting today that our business leaders and policymakers are eager to engage with Germany. I assure you that our business doors are open and the reforms are yielding positive results. We discussed our plans to strengthen this relationship and foster partnerships that are beneficial and rewarding for both nations, as well as promoting people-to-people and government-to-government opportunities,” Tinubu stated during a joint press conference.
As part of these efforts, Nigeria is poised to benefit from Germany’s €4 billion investment in green energy initiatives by 2030, which supports the country’s economic diversification and sustainable development goals.
This initiative will also bolster Nigeria’s presence in the global green hydrogen market, aligning with Germany’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2045.
