Led by the Ministry of Finance, the signing ceremony of these guidelines took place at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, presided over by Minister Wale Edun. The guidelines, developed in line with Presidential Directives, aim to bolster the global competitiveness of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector while driving economic growth.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, the guidelines were crafted in collaboration with key regulatory bodies such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.

Special emphasis was placed on ensuring a conducive framework for investment, with the aim of attracting significant capital infusion into the sector within the next 12 to 18 months. These measures, spearheaded by Mrs. Olu Verheijen, Special Adviser to the President on Energy, underscore Nigeria’s commitment to achieving its long-term oil production targets and enhancing gas supply reliability to fuel industrialization and boost export earnings.

Among the guidelines signed is the NUPRC Guideline on Hydrocarbon Liquid Content in a Non-Associated Gas (NAG) Field, which plays a critical role in accurately assessing and quantifying hydrocarbon liquid content in such fields.
