Nigerian Social Media App Kluoto Takes The UK By Storm
According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian-developed social media tracking and monetisation application, Kluoto, is experiencing significant growth in the United Kingdom, signaling a major step in its global expansion strategy. The platform, founded by Nigerian tech entrepreneur Chukwuemeka Martins Osuofia, now draws the majority of its user traffic from the UK, with plans underway to extend operations to the United States.
In a recent interview with Lagos Television, Osuofia emphasized that Kluoto was created to empower youths, businesses, and content creators by providing financial incentives largely unavailable on conventional social media platforms. He described the app as economically focused, designed to reward users for their time and engagement while contributing to the development of Nigeria’s digital economy.
Osuofia highlighted that Nigerian users benefit from exclusive features, including an hourly earning system, ensuring local content creators are compensated promptly for their interactions on the app. Unlike platforms such as YouTube, which require users to meet monetisation thresholds, Kluoto allows instant earnings as users engage with content.
The founder also stressed that content regulation remains a priority, particularly in light of the rising threat of deepfake content online, and assured that measures are in place to maintain authenticity across the platform.
Kluoto, registered in Nigeria last year, is in its first year of domestic operations and recently unveiled a refreshed brand identity alongside a new tracking feature. According to the company’s Social Media Manager, Didi Edem, the rebrand reflects a new phase in the company’s mission to transform content creation and monetisation. The tracking tool offers users real-time insights into engagement and earnings through an intuitive dashboard, reinforcing Kluoto’s growing influence as both an application and a movement for African creators.
