Ohanaeze Sends Message To Nigerians Over Tinubu’s Certificate Controversy

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the foremost Igbo socio-cultural organization, is appealing to Nigerians to maintain composure and await the Supreme Court’s verdict on the ongoing certificate controversy involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The organization is urging Nigerians to refrain from escalating tensions and agitating the political atmosphere, as this would be detrimental to the nation.

In a statement signed by its Secretary General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Igbo group emphasized that the allegations regarding President Tinubu’s Chicago State University certificate from the United States of America are weighty and necessitate a thorough investigation.

However, Isiguzoro advised against any attempts to exploit these allegations to foment chaos and instability in the country. He expressed confidence in the Supreme Court’s ability to handle the matter impartially and reach a just and equitable verdict.

The statement reads in part: “The Ohanaeze Ndigbo appeals to Nigerians to remain calm and wait for the outcome of the Supreme Court on the ongoing certificate saga involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We urge Nigerians to refrain from heightening tensions and overheating the polity, as this will not augur well for the country.

“The allegations of discrepancy on President Tinubu’s Chicago State University of the United States of America certificate are serious and must be thoroughly investigated. However, we caution against any attempt to use the allegations to cause chaos and instability in the country.

“We have confidence in the ability of the Supreme Court to handle the matter judiciously and arrive at a just and fair verdict. We urge Nigerians to have faith in the judicial process and allow the court to do its job without any interference.”

Ohanaeze Ndigbo also called on politicians and other stakeholders to refrain from making inflammatory statements that could further divide the country. The organization urged all Nigerians to come together and work towards building a united, prosperous, and peaceful nation.
