Osun Election: ‘My Biggest Thanks Goes To Tinubu’ – Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for what he described as allowing democracy to thrive during the recently concluded governorship election in the state.

According to IREPORTER Online, Adeleke made the remarks on Wednesday after receiving his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the commission’s state headquarters in Osogbo.

The governor thanked INEC for conducting the election, while also appreciating the people of Osun and his supporters for their confidence in his leadership.

Adeleke also commended security agencies for their role in maintaining peace during the electoral process, particularly the Commissioner of Police in charge of the election, CP Erale Etaifo, although he said more could have been done.

He said, “I thank the Police and other security agents who were on ground to ensure a peaceful, free and fair election. I especially thank the Commissioner of Police (Election). But I wished the Police had done more.

“My biggest thanks go to our father, our Jagaban, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for allowing democracy to survive in Osun. I promise again that we shall work for his re-election in 2027.”

Adeleke further stated that several attempts were made to frustrate his campaign and political ambitions, but he attributed his eventual victory to divine intervention.

He said he had chosen to forgive those who opposed him and called on all the other candidates who contested the election to put their differences aside and work together for the development of Osun State.

“What else do I want God to do for me? All sorts of things were done to frustrate me, but God stood by me and gave me victory. Why would I still be bitter against anybody? I call on them all to join hands with me to move the state forward,” he added.

The governor also announced plans to provide scholarships for children of individuals who lost their lives during the electoral process.
