Ozigbo Calls For New Leadership, Declares Soludo Unfit For Re-Election
Anambra State Labour Party governorship aspirant, Valentine Ozigbo, has urged citizens of Anambra to reject Governor Chukwuma Soludo in the 2025 elections.
Ozigbo criticized Soludo for what he perceives as a deteriorating security situation in the state, which he claims has left residents living in fear.
Ozigbo alleged that Soludo was manipulating the state House of Assembly to enact laws designed to weaken the opposition ahead of the upcoming local government elections. He asserted that Soludo’s actions, including recent amendments to the Anambra Electoral Act, are aimed at facilitating electoral manipulation and imposing his loyalists.
In a statement posted on his X account, Ozigbo expressed frustration with the current administration, saying, “Governor Soludo’s actions, including his push for amendments to the electoral laws, are aimed at rigging the elections and imposing his will on Ndi Anambra. The state’s economy is suffering, and many residents are living in poverty and fear.”
Ozigbo called on the Labour Party to field strong candidates for the local elections and to challenge the amended act’s provisions that he believes contradict national laws. He emphasized the importance of presenting candidates who can bring meaningful change to Anambra’s governance.
“The Governor does not deserve another chance,” Ozigbo declared. “We must continue to oppose his schemes and fight for a better future for our people.”
