PDP Turmoil: Members Propose Solutions, Demand Disciplinary Actions

The group expressed concerns that some individuals have repeatedly acted against the party’s interests without consequences, giving the impression that the PDP lacks internal control and direction.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, the Protem National Coordinator of CP-PDP, Barr. Obinna Nwachukwu, urged the party’s National Disciplinary Committee to expedite action on pending petitions against members engaging in anti-party activities.

Nwachukwu noted that the PDP leadership’s failure to enforce disciplinary provisions outlined in Articles 57, 58, and 59 of the party’s 2017 amended constitution has contributed to the crisis. He emphasized that this lack of action emboldens members to engage in divisive litigation, controversial statements, and actions that undermine the party’s unity and electoral prospects.

“As professionals and committed members of the PDP, we believe that our party, which remains the preferred choice for many Nigerians, must not be weakened by the ambitions and subversive activities of a few individuals who no longer uphold its core values of selflessness and national development,” Nwachukwu stated.

The CP-PDP commended PDP governors for their commitment to the party’s stability and reassured party members and Nigerians that the PDP remains strong, united, and capable of overcoming its current challenges.
