During a press briefing held recently, PFN President, Bishop Wale Oke, underscored the gravity of the insecurity issues, stressing the urgent need for decisive measures.
Addressing the media, Bishop Oke urged President Tinubu not to underestimate the severity of the nation’s security challenges, emphasizing the widespread suffering and loss of innocent lives across various states.
The PFN leader called upon all Nigerians to set aside differences and unite in combating the security crisis, emphasizing that governmental action alone cannot resolve the magnitude of the problem.
“Mr. President, please declare a state of emergency on insecurity in Nigeria and utilize your executive power to compel Nigerian forces to crush insecurity and restore peace,” Bishop Oke pleaded.
He condemned acts of rebellion and threats against the nation’s authority, urging the President to take firm action against perpetrators.
“We stand ready to cooperate with you, pray for you, and provide necessary information for your success,” Bishop Oke assured.
The PFN also urged the federal government to address economic challenges, advocating for regulated border openings to alleviate hunger while prioritizing security checks to curb infiltration by foreign perpetrators of banditry.
Furthermore, addressing recent reports regarding TB Joshua, the PFN clarified that the late cleric was never associated with the fellowship, affirming their commitment to scriptural principles and righteousness.
In their steadfast stance for peace and security, the PFN echoes the collective voice of millions of Nigerians, urging swift and decisive action to safeguard the nation’s future.
