Portable: Charles Okocha Bit Me During Fight

Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has explained the reasons behind his dramatic exit from his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha, alleging that the contest became unfair and strayed from the rules of boxing.

According to Ireporter Online, the highly anticipated rematch took place on Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre inside the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. The event, tagged Unfinished Business, was organised following the controversy that surrounded their first boxing encounter, with Okocha previously disputing the outcome of that bout.

Reacting after the contest, Portable shared a video on his Instagram page displaying visible marks and injuries on his body, claiming they were sustained during the fight.

The singer alleged that Okocha bit him during the bout and also accused him of choking his neck, insisting the contest turned into a wrestling match rather than a boxing contest. He further claimed that several individuals became involved while the fight was ongoing.

Portable maintained that he had dominated the early stages of the bout, stating that he landed more effective punches and believed he was in control before the encounter allegedly became overly physical.

According to the singer, the alleged biting and choking prompted his decision to walk away from the contest rather than continue under what he described as unfair conditions.

He also declared that he no longer intends to participate in celebrity boxing matches, stressing that his music career is more important than any financial reward attached to such events.

Portable expressed disappointment over how the fight unfolded but said he remains focused on his career and family, praying for greater happiness and success going forward.

Charles Okocha had not publicly responded to Portable’s allegations as of the time of filing this report.
