Portable’s Narrow Escape Armed Assailant Targets Music Star In Dramatic Scene ‘Video’

The footage captures the dramatic moment when a half-naked man, suspected to be the assailant, was apprehended while armed.

Bystanders in the video could be heard questioning, “Who pulled the trigger?” as the atmosphere turned tense.

Attempts to contact the Ogun State Police Command for comments were unsuccessful, as spokesperson SP Odutola Omolola did not respond to calls or messages. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Portable, known for his outspoken nature, expressed relief following the incident.

Recently, Portable had also clashed with social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), who criticized him for physically assaulting a man at Felabration, an event honoring late Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti. VDM had shared a video showing Portable hitting a man in a restroom, voicing his displeasure at the singer’s actions and advising him to stop the assaults.

In response, Portable posted a video on his Instagram, asserting he could confront VDM physically, urging him to investigate his reputation in Abuja. He declared, “Online madness is different from real-life madness. I’ll bend you, I’ll mend you, I’ll cripple you. I am a one-man battalion. If I catch you… You’re using Abuja to threaten me. Go and ask about me in Maraba Nyanya, Babangida Market, or Lagos.”

Portable further explained the circumstances surrounding the altercation with the man he assaulted, stating, “My fans should know the person I was fighting. It was a one-on-one, man-to-man situation. He had taken money from me for five shows and disappeared with it for six months. He collected money for my shows. Are you my manager?”
