Sad News As Newly Admitted Police Cadet Collapse, Dies In Kano
A newly admitted police cadet, identified as A.S Jika, tragically passed away at the Nigeria Police Academy in Kano. The young cadet, who was part of course 9, collapsed in a restroom and was found lifeless in the early hours of the day.
According to sources, A.S Jika’s death was allegedly due to starvation, as he was reportedly left untreated at the academy’s clinic due to a lack of medical supplies and personnel.
The sources also revealed that cadets at the academy had been facing harsh conditions during their regimental training, exacerbated by a sudden reduction in daily provisions.

They claimed that cadets had been experiencing hunger and malnutrition for the past two weeks due to what they deemed as unfriendly policies implemented by the Commandant, Assistant Inspector-General Sadiq Abubakar.
The sources further explained that since the new commandant took office, cadets had been receiving inadequate and subpar food.
They expressed concerns about the adverse effects of these conditions on the cadets’ well-being, with some collapsing daily during training due to fatigue, hunger, and malnourishment.
The staff at the academy also raised concerns about the recent policies introduced by the Commandant, including the reduction of the daily mini-market to once a week.
They highlighted that cadets’ feeding patterns had significantly decreased, contributing to ongoing complaints of starvation.
Efforts to reach Assistant Inspector-General Abubakar for comment were unsuccessful, as his phone lines were switched off.
