Senator Omo-Agege Appreciate President Tinubu’s Economic Reforms, Promises Greater-Nigeria
In a statement released to reporters in Warri, Delta state, immediate past Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, commends the economic reforms spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Senator Omo-Agege emphasizes that these reforms aim to uplift citizens’ well-being and elevate Nigeria’s standing globally.
Encouraging Nigerians to support the government, Omo-Agege highlights the temporary nature of the present economic challenges, attributing them to the administration’s bold policies. He lauds President Tinubu’s refusal to prioritize short-term populist decisions, opting instead for measures aimed at long-term economic stability.
The senator elaborates on the administration’s initiatives, including the abolition of the oil subsidy and the crackdown on crude oil theft, leading to a significant increase in oil export revenue. He notes a 37 percent growth in Nigeria’s oil export in 2023 and highlights achievements such as reaching a production of 1.7 million barrels per day, the highest in four years.
Acknowledging the initial discomfort caused by these reforms, Senator Omo-Agege affirms President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s progress, emphasizing the necessity of a comprehensive reset to address past shortcomings and build a more sustainable future.
Regarding foreign exchange, Omo-Agege praises Tinubu’s efforts to unify multiple markets, combat corruption, and foster an environment conducive to both local and foreign investment. He notes the positive reception of these measures by the international business community, signaling renewed interest in Nigeria’s market.
As President Tinubu marks his first year in office, Senator Omo-Agege urges continued reform efforts to restore Nigeria’s dignity and position it favorably among nations. He calls for unwavering support from all Nigerians as the country navigates through these transformative changes toward a promising tomorrow.
