Despite a deadline set by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for the coup leaders to restore power to Bazoum, they have defied the order. ECOWAS has also warned of potential military action to intervene in the situation.

In a widely circulated video, Dokubo asserted that he possesses the capability to overpower Niger Republic with his army if Nigeria’s federal government grants him permission.

“If the government instructs me and my associates to proceed to Niger Republic, we are ready to go. We will defeat them and emerge victorious. This isn’t a mere assertion,” he stated.

Dokubo continued, “Whether Benin Republic intervenes or not, they are human beings like us. We are prepared to confront them, secure a victory, and restore democratic governance.”
