Tinubu Gets Major Boost As Aggrieved APC Aspirants Unveil Statewide Mobilisation

According to Ireporter Online, a coalition of former All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants in Ondo State has officially launched a statewide mobilisation drive to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027. The group, operating under the banner of the Aggrieved Aspirants Forum (AAF), announced its decision after what members described as a thorough assessment of the President’s ongoing reforms, stabilisation initiatives and efforts aimed at strengthening national institutions.

Speaking at the forum’s quarterly meeting in Akure, the group’s leader, Taiwo Agunloye, said the members had unanimously resolved to endorse President Tinubu and express full confidence in his administration, especially in the management of national security. He explained that the forum is made up of former aspirants who contested for state and federal legislative seats, governorship primaries, and local government positions. The group, he said, intends to deploy its political influence, community reach and existing structures to drive grassroots sensitisation and relay the administration’s renewed hope agenda to voters across Ondo State.

Agunloye disclosed that the coalition will embark on community engagements, ward-level outreach and targeted enlightenment programmes to strengthen public confidence ahead of the 2027 general elections and counter misinformation within local communities. He emphasised that many of the former aspirants still enjoy strong followership in their constituencies, which he believes will significantly boost support for President Tinubu.

He added that while the group had long-standing grievances over the treatment of loyal party members during previous election cycles in 2014, 2018/2019 and 2023—with some members even losing their lives due to trauma from political frustrations—their renewed commitment to President Tinubu is driven by national interest. Agunloye highlighted improvements in security, a gradual easing of food prices and a more stable exchange rate as indicators of progress under the current administration.

He praised the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his consistent support and urged him to continue presenting the group’s concerns at the federal level. Meanwhile, the member representing Akoko North-West Constituency I in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Tiamiyu Atere, reassured the aggrieved aspirants of government support and promised to convey their grievances to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
