The early morning incident resulted in the loss of three passengers and approximately 10 cows, while three survivors sustained severe injuries and are currently receiving medical attention in a nearby hospital.
Details regarding the origin and destination of the vehicle remain unconfirmed, but swift response efforts from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), community members, and other stakeholders facilitated the evacuation process at the accident site.
FRSC’s spokesperson, Route Commander Peter Longsan, provided insights into the tragic event, stating, “The accident occurred during the night as the trailer, transporting both passengers and cattle, veered off course. We have successfully evacuated the individuals, and the vehicle has been cleared from the scene.”
He continued, “Regrettably, three individuals lost their lives in the crash, while three others sustained injuries and have been transported to a medical facility for treatment. Additionally, approximately 10 cows perished in the accident.”
The incident serves as a somber reminder of the risks inherent in transportation activities, underscoring the importance of adherence to safety regulations and vigilant road practices to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.
