Troops Neutralize 192 Terrorists, Arrest 341 Others, And Rescue Hostages

According to Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, troops neutralized 192 terrorists, apprehended 341 others, and rescued 62 kidnapped hostages. Additionally, 122 ISWAP/JAS terrorists surrendered along with their families.

The operations yielded substantial recoveries, including 211 assorted weapons and 6,288 assorted ammunition. Among the recovered items were 128 AK47 rifles, 26 dane guns, and various rounds of ammunition.

In the North East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralized 71 terrorists, arrested 143 suspects, and rescued 58 kidnapped hostages. Air strikes targeted ISWAP/JAS terrorist hideouts and logistics hubs.

In the North Central, Operations Safe Haven and Whirl Stroke neutralized 29 insurgents, arrested 53 violent extremists, and rescued eight kidnapped hostages.

In the North West, Operation Hadarin Daji neutralized 62 terrorists, arrested 49 others, and rescued 36 kidnapped hostages. Operation Whirl Punch led to the arrest of 14 criminals and recovery of arms and ammunition.

Operation Delta Safe in the South-South focused on countering crude oil theft, resulting in the recovery of stolen crude oil and destruction of illegal refining sites. Troops also apprehended suspected oil thieves and recovered weapons.

In the South-East, troops of Operation UDOKA neutralized nine terrorists, arrested 11 violent extremists, rescued 17 kidnapped hostages, and recovered weapons.

These operations demonstrate the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to combatting terrorism, insurgency, and other criminal activities across the country.
