Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Friday, Ahwefeada lamented that despite intelligence resources, the real perpetrators of the March 14, 2024 attack have not been brought to justice. He emphasized that identifying the culprits is crucial for closure.

He also criticized the prolonged detention of community leaders arrested in the aftermath, noting that an 80-year-old detainee died in military custody. Ahwefeada called for the release of the remaining detainees, stating, “Even if they are considered suspects, they should be handed over to the police and charged to court. As long as they have not been convicted, they are still innocent.”

The incident had led to a military takeover of the community, forcing many residents to flee. Concerns remain over the prolonged security crackdown and lack of progress in finding the real perpetrators.
