Shettima revealed that despite the Naira’s previous fluctuations, the government remained unfazed, as President Bola Tinubu comprehends the intricacies of the situation and is dedicated to ensuring the appreciation of the national currency.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shettima noted that while some Nigerians celebrated the Naira’s depreciation, the government was quietly confident in its ability to reverse the trend.

He highlighted Tinubu’s efforts in discontinuing fuel subsidies and unifying the multiple exchange rates, which were aimed at stabilizing the currency and preventing the emergence of overnight billionaires.

Acknowledging Tinubu’s pivotal role in the development of Lagos State, Shettima expressed gratitude for the blueprint laid by the former governor, which has contributed to the significant progress witnessed in the state.
