Nigerian Army Neutralizes Terrorists, Recovers Weapons In Borno And Nasarawa States

In a statement released on Saturday, the Army disclosed that the operations, conducted on April 19 in collaboration with hybrid forces, targeted Kana Village in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, as well as parts of Nasarawa State.

During the operation in Borno State, troops engaged terrorists around Nguma Village, resulting in the neutralization of two insurgents in a gun duel. Additionally, two AK-47 rifles, one motorbike, six bicycles, and other items were recovered from the fleeing terrorists. The clearance operation in the area is ongoing.

In Nasarawa State, troops acted on credible intelligence and conducted a cordon-and-search operation around Abuni Village in Awe Local Government Area. This led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, and 35 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition. The weapons were found in the residence of Mr. Abdullahi Musa, leading to the arrest of other suspects.

The Army emphasized the importance of public support in providing timely and credible information to aid ongoing operations, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the populace.
