Kano Governor Reappoints Official Sacked For Trolling Vice President Shettima

Imam, along with the commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Adamu Aliyu, was dismissed last September following controversy over a death threat issued to judges of the state’s governorship electoral petition tribunal.

The government’s spokesperson, Halilu Dantiye, clarified at the time that the views expressed by both officials did not align with the state government’s official stance under Governor Yusuf.

Imam’s reappointment, along with Aliyu’s, comes after eight months, with Aliyu being reinstated in March and Imam recalled in April.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, announced Imam’s return to office, also disclosing additional appointments made by the governor, including Ibrahim Barde as Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Abdulhamid Danladi as Special Adviser on Diaspora, and Bello Kiru as Special Adviser on Water Resources.

Further appointments include Nura Shanono as Managing Director of Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA), Baba Umar as Executive Secretary of the Private and Voluntary Institutions Management Board, and Nasir Muhammad as Director General of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Additionally, Aminu Bako has been appointed Deputy Managing Director of the Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA), while Mukhtar Yusuf assumes the role of Deputy Managing Director of the Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA).
