Ukachukwu had accused Wike of ordering the demolition of his investment on 214 hectares of land in the Asokoro district of FCT, despite pending court orders preventing such actions.
Speaking during a press briefing, Wike clarified that the land allocated to Ukachukwu did not have the approval of any minister, including his predecessor. He pointed out that land-grabbing in Abuja is becoming rampant due to compromised officials in the land department of his ministry.
Asserting his stance, Wike stated, “I have been doing this before. I will continue to do it. And nothing will happen.” He emphasized that criminals involved in land-grabbing would face consequences for their actions.
Wike highlighted the need for transparency and adherence to due process, expressing his determination to address fraudulent practices in land allocation. He emphasized the importance of seeking advice from external solicitors to ensure fairness and justice in resolving land disputes.
Regarding the specific case of Ukachukwu’s investment, Wike revealed that the land was allocated without ministerial approval, leading to unauthorized transactions and sales of the property.
In conclusion, Wike reiterated his commitment to upholding the law and preventing illegal land activities, regardless of any external pressures or influences.
