Chairman of the committee, Bashiru Ayinla, announced this during a briefing with House correspondents at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Tuesday.

Ayinla stated the committee’s commitment to ensuring that individuals found violating the Disability Act face appropriate legal consequences.

Adebola Daniel, who relies on a wheelchair, was reportedly denied entry to a KFC outlet at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, with the manager allegedly stating, “No wheelchair allowed.”

Ayinla condemned the incident, describing it as a violation of inclusivity and respect, as well as a contravention of the Disability Act. He stressed that such discrimination against persons with disabilities would not be tolerated.

He further highlighted the Discrimination against People with Disabilities Prohibition Act 2018, aimed at safeguarding the rights of persons with disabilities, and called for compliance with the Act.

Ayinla emphasized that denying individuals with disabilities access to public spaces undermines efforts to enforce the Disability Act and is unacceptable.
