Nollywood Actor Yul Edochie and Rufai Oseni

According to Ireporter Online, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has publicly criticized Arise Television anchor Rufai Oseni, labeling him as disrespectful. In a video shared on his social media platforms, Edochie accused Oseni of creating uncomfortable situations for guests during interviews and questioned his moral authority to challenge political figures.

Edochie referred to a previous incident in Lagos State in which Oseni was caught driving in a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane. He noted that the broadcaster only apologized after a video of the event circulated online.

“Is this not the same Rufai Oseni that was caught driving on a BRT lane? When officials confronted you, instead of apologizing, you shouted, ‘Do you know who I am? I’m going to call the governor of Lagos State.’ If not for the video, would you have apologized?” Edochie asked.

He further criticized Oseni’s handling of interview guests, saying, “How can you invite somebody and make the guest uncomfortable? If a guest is not comfortable, the first thing you do is apologize and make the guest feel at ease. Telling a guest they are free to walk out is insulting. That is not journalism.”

Edochie also defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, urging critics to allow the government more time to deliver on its promises. “Jagaban President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the President of Nigeria, whether you like it or not. Give him time. Rome was not built in a day,” he stated.
