Nigerians Are Reacting: Popular Nigerian Pastor Quits Preaching After 40 Years, Ventures into Real Estate Business

In a surprising turn of events, veteran Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, the founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), renowned for his 40-year journey in preaching the Christian gospel, has opted for a new path – the realm of real estate business.

Recent reports reveal that the esteemed televangelist has made the decision to step back from full-time Christian ministry and embrace a fresh career in real estate. Presently, Pastor Ashimolowo stands as one of the most substantial landowners within Lagos.

While his real estate ventures commenced as far back as the age of 27, with the acquisition of a modest parcel of land, his portfolio has since burgeoned, encompassing approximately 900 acres in the Mowe region of Ogun State. In this expanse, he has established six distinct estates. Furthermore, his expansion has extended to the Ibeju Lekki coastal area of Lagos, acquiring additional plots of land.

Amidst his possession of numerous properties within Lekki’s Pinnoch Estate, he resides in an opulent, technologically advanced mansion. This is not his only real estate domain, as he lays claim to numerous scattered acres across Lagos.

Pastor Ashimolowo is presently engrossed in developing one of Lagos’s most noteworthy luxury estates – the Makarios Luxury Properties. This sprawling luxury estate, envisioned to rival the grandeur of Dubai Marina, occupies 95 acres of land. The estate, characterized by high-rise structures with 10 floors, will ultimately encompass 192 terrace houses and 18 detached houses.

Interestingly, he has designated almost 300 land parcels within this opulent estate for sale. With a dedicated pastor overseeing the Lagos branch of his church, his eldest son, Tobi, shoulders the responsibility of managing the London branch and headquarters.
