Breaking News: Supreme Court Holds Decision: Judgment Reserved on Omo-Agege, Gbaji, Pela’s Appeal in Delta Gov Poll

The delay was announced by a five-member panel led by Justice Inyang Okoro, following the adoption of final arguments by all parties involved. The appellants jointly urged the Supreme Court to nullify the November 24 decision of the Court of Appeal in Lagos, which had dismissed their case for lacking merit, affirming Oborevwori of the PDP as the rightful winner.

They also challenged a prior ruling by the Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Asaba, which had upheld Oborevwori’s election on September 29.

Omo-Agege, the immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, argued that the election violated the Electoral Act, pointing out irregularities in result recording and serial numbering at some polling units.

Gbaji of the SDP sought a declaration of Governor Oborevwori’s ineligibility, while LP’s Pela called for the annulment of the entire election and a fresh one.

The Supreme Court panel announced that the judgment date would be communicated to all parties. The case has drawn public attention since INEC declared Oborevwori of the PDP the winner with 360,234 votes, against Omo-Agege of the APC, who secured 240,229 votes.
