Bwala Clarifies Stance: Denies Calling For Cardoso’s Removal As CBN Boss, Stands Firm On Reform Agenda
Daniel Bwala, former spokesperson of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation, has vehemently refuted media reports suggesting that he advocated for the ousting of OlayAemi Cardoso from his role as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Contrary to the alleged statements attributed to him, Bwala took to his official X handle to set the record straight, asserting that he never called for Cardoso’s dismissal as maliciously portrayed by the media.
In his clarifying post, Bwala expressed his unwavering support for Cardoso’s implementation of the comprehensive reform agenda set forth by President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He emphasized his stance that if Cardoso is not fully committed to executing the robust reform agenda, then a replacement should be sought—one who lacks a background in commercial banking and is not inclined to coddle bank executives.
Bwala reinforced his endorsement of the stringent policy measures undertaken by the CBN, particularly in addressing the manipulative practices of Bureaux De Change (BDC) operators, which he believes are detrimental to the financial system.
Asserting his position, Bwala reiterated his call for a thorough overhaul of the system, drawing parallels to past corporate scandals like the Enron debacle in the United States.
In conclusion, Bwala underscored his unwavering commitment to the restoration of Nigeria’s prosperity and emphasized the imperative of pursuing comprehensive reforms to achieve this goal.
Amidst the clarifications, Bwala’s unwavering support for Cardoso’s reform agenda remains steadfast, underscoring the collective aspiration to elevate Nigeria to its rightful stature.
