The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, around 7:00 am at the suspect’s residence near Beulah International Nursery and Primary Schools, Atiku Abubakar Way, Uyo. The motive behind the murder remains unknown at this time.

Upon visiting the area, our correspondent observed a crowd of residents gathering at the scene, causing a blockade and disrupting traffic flow. The victim’s body and the suspected perpetrator had already been taken to the police headquarters at Ikot Akpan Abia, with armed policemen present to manage the situation.

According to an anonymous source, the incident unfolded when the suspect, residing in the compound, arrived home with his girlfriend, reported to be a nurse. Shortly after entering their room, neighbors heard the suspect assaulting the girlfriend. Despite attempts by an elderly woman in the compound to intervene, the suspect continued the assault. When the girlfriend’s father was called to intervene, the suspect barricaded the door upon seeing him, prompting the neighbors to seek further assistance.
