The Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, gave the directive on Tuesday during a meeting aimed at resolving the chieftaincy crisis between Owatapa of Itapa Ekiti, Oba David Ajaja, and the town’s Chief Priest, Chief Kehinde Osanyingbemi.

The decision to reverse the removal of the Chief Priest was made to encourage peace and harmony within the community. Mrs. Afuye emphasized the importance of peace in the development of the state and urged all parties involved to embrace the peace-building agenda of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration.

She also commanded Chief Kehinde Osanyingbemi to tender an open apology to the monarch and warned against further disrespect to the traditional institution.

Mrs. Afuye stated, “This government won’t allow any town to be engulfed in chieftaincy crisis, and the dimension your case is assuming could be worse than we expected, if the people can’t forgive each other.
