The announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, in Damaturu on Tuesday.

Ireporteronline reports that Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn-Grema’s appointment follows the death of his father and the former Emir of Tikau, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn-Grema.

According to the statement, the appointment of the new emir was based on the unanimous recommendation of the kingmakers of Tikau Emirate Council.

Alhaji Abubakar Muhammadu Ibn-Grema holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agric Economics & Extension and an MSC in Agric Economics from Bayero University, Kano.

Before his appointment, he served as a Principal Manager at Yobe State University Farms in Damaturu.

The statement also noted that the new emir has attended various training courses, including Environmental Impact Assessment at Ecosystem International Limited, Lagos, and Health and Safety Training/Induction at the University of Reading, Berkshire.
