Sanwo-Olu and Ambode Unite to Shape Lagos’ Future: A New Era of Collaboration
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, welcomed his predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode, at the State House on Monday for an important discussion focused on the progress and future of Lagos. The meeting was a significant moment for Lagos, bringing together two influential leaders to explore ways to further enhance the state’s development and solidify its role as a key socio-political force in the region.
According to Gboyega Akosile, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, the two leaders engaged in a deep and meaningful conversation about Lagos’ economic trajectory and its vital position as a stabilizing factor in the subregion. Their dialogue underscores a shared commitment to the growth and advancement of Lagos State.
This meeting follows a recent encounter between Sanwo-Olu and Ambode in June, where the current governor attended Ambode’s 60th birthday celebration in Lagos. In the same month, both leaders, along with former Governor Babatunde Fashola, joined forces to honor President Bola Tinubu at a reception in Lagos. It was the first time since Ambode left office in 2019 that all four governors of Lagos State since 1999 were seen together at a public event, marking a historic moment of unity.
The collaboration between Sanwo-Olu and Ambode is viewed as a significant step towards fostering a harmonious relationship that will undoubtedly benefit the development of Lagos State. With continued support and encouragement from the people of Lagos and Nigeria, Governor Sanwo-Olu is poised to build on this momentum, focusing on key areas such as security, the economy, culture, and tourism to drive the state forward.
This renewed partnership signals a promising future for Lagos, with both leaders working together to ensure the state remains a beacon of progress and stability in Nigeria.
