Speaking at the 6th Annual Ramadan Lecture organized by the BANIK Community Empowerment Foundation in Iree, Adeleke called on the State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, to take a firm stance on ensuring the security of lives and property in the state. He lamented the ongoing unrest in Osun State, particularly the crises in Ifon and Ilobu, which have plagued the state since the beginning of the year, and criticized the violence that erupted following the reinstatement of APC council officials.

He urged the Governor to demonstrate strong leadership in times of crisis, emphasizing the importance of peace for the residents of Osun. “The Governor must show the ability to lead effectively during such crises to maintain peace,” Adeleke stated. He also appealed to the warring communities to cease hostilities and engage in dialogue to resolve their differences.

In his lecture, Sheikh Muideen Salman also addressed the issue, urging political and community leaders to curb their greed to improve the lives of the masses. He warned that excessive greed, particularly among public officials, could invite God’s wrath. “Political and community leaders must remember that they will be judged by posterity for their actions and inactions in both this life and the afterlife. They should check their greed to avoid bringing down the wrath of God and the anger of the people,” Salman stressed.
