Efforts to bolster national security and counter inland waterway threats have received a boost as the Nigerian Navy finalizes plans to establish a new base in Yauri, located in Kebbi State’s Yauri Local Government Area.

According to iReporter Online, a high-ranking naval delegation conveyed this development during a courtesy visit to Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. The delegation, led by Rear Admiral Patrick Nwatu, disclosed that the initiative aligns with the Nigerian Navy’s broader inland maritime strategy aimed at curbing insecurity and safeguarding critical waterways.
