According to iReporter Online, the NRC’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, confirmed in a statement on Friday that the suspension was necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of train operations along the route.

“Operations were temporarily suspended on the train service to enable us to carry out urgent and critical track repairs aimed at guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and comfort of passengers,” he stated.

Unyimadu noted that the repair work had progressed significantly and assured the public that normal rail services would resume “in the shortest possible time.”

He extended appreciation to passengers for their patience during the service disruption, adding that NRC remains fully committed to delivering safe, efficient, and dependable rail transport across Nigeria.
