Naira–Dollar Exchange Rate Update For December 11, 2025
According to Ireporter Online, the naira slightly adjusted against the United States dollar in the informal foreign exchange market on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Market trackers reported that dealers at the Lagos parallel market exchanged the dollar at ₦1487 for sellers, while buyers obtained it at ₦1480, reflecting the prevailing rates within the Bureau De Change network.
Despite the active use of the parallel market by individuals and businesses, financial authorities continue to emphasize that the Central Bank of Nigeria does not officially recognize this segment of the FX market. The apex bank has repeatedly advised citizens seeking foreign exchange to process such transactions through regulated banking channels.
At the official window, the CBN recorded a high of ₦1458 and a low of ₦1453 to the dollar. Analysts note that forex prices may differ across locations and trading points, as fluctuations are common due to market demand and supply conditions.
