Charley Boy Takes ‘999’ Memoir On Global Tour In October
Nigerian entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy or AreaFada, is set to take his recently released memoir, 999, on an international tour beginning in October 2026.
According to reports, plans are already underway to present the autobiography in London, Germany and other major cities across Europe. The tour is also expected to extend to several African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Rwanda.
The planned international tour follows the successful launch of 999 held in Lagos in late July at the Alliance Française, Mike Adenuga House, Ikoyi.
Confirming the development, Charly Boy said the memoir would begin its global journey in October following the positive reception it received in Nigeria.
He disclosed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is helping to coordinate a new schedule for the international presentations, with invitations expected to be extended to prominent personalities and diplomatic figures.
Charly Boy explained that Obasanjo had already begun making arrangements for presentations in London, Germany and other European countries, adding that the former president believes the memoir contains lessons that could resonate with audiences around the world.
The entertainer further revealed that other African leaders who have close ties with Obasanjo had also expressed interest in hosting presentations of the book in their respective countries.
He said the organisers intend to respond to the invitations and take 999 to more African audiences.
The memoir has generated significant attention since its Lagos unveiling, with several prominent Nigerians attending the launch following an invitation by Obasanjo.
With the planned international tour, Charly Boy is expected to bring the story of his life, career, activism and experiences to a wider global audience.
