The star, whose real name is Devin Swain, died after sustaining injuries to his chest.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital despite the best efforts of medical teams.

Officers rushed to the house for a possible home invasion robbery, and when they arrived, they found Swain injured, reports Fox59.

The rapper was attacked by several masked men who entered the property, his family have said.

His brother, Donald Cox, said: “It was traumatic very traumatic something that I wouldn’t want anyone to ever go through. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone’s family.

“It’s definitely hard we never really expected like something like this to come about to such a phenomenal person. He was just one of those people that believed in me before I even believed in myself.”

Fans and friends have paid tribute to the musician.

“It’s heartbreaking seeing all this hurt all over social media. I didn’t know Lil Devin but I can tell he was LOVED. Rest in paradise.” a Twitter user wrote

Another wrote: “Lil Devin was truly a visionary man… RIP Lil Devin.. gone too soon.”

Rashawn Samuels, 14, who was coached by Lil Devin, said: “He was a good person and he was all about all the kids staying in school, doing good, listen to your parents. He was a good, respectful, loving person.

“He didn’t deserve it. He was a good person.”
