BREAKING: Labour Party Reveals Position On Suspension Of Doyin Okupe
The Labour Party, LP, has declared that the purported suspension of Doyin Okupe, Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), is null and void.
Mr Umar-Farouk Ibrahim, the party’s National Secretary, made the announcement in Abuja on Friday.
Ibrahim stated that the party’s leadership was shocked by the suspension by the Ogun chapter, which occurred without due process.
“The Ogun State Chapter has acted outside its constitutional jurisdiction; the party has an internal conflict resolution mechanism of handling cases against members as enshrined in the party’s constitution,” he said.
He also stated that the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) will take appropriate disciplinary action against the perpetrators of the alleged suspensions.
Ibrahim assured that the party would maintain member cohesion and would not be distracted by the antics of the opposition candidates until all of its candidates were victorious in the 2023 general election.
