What is happening in Mangu at this particular point in time, the military are the ones sending our people away for the militia to burn their houses.” He specifically pointed to an unsettling situation where Christians were allegedly forced out of the new market, leaving their homes vulnerable to destruction.

In response to these serious claims, Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed to Punch on Thursday that the DHQ is actively initiating contact with the cleric to gather more information and substantiate the allegations.

Major General Buba acknowledged the emotional toll such traumatic experiences can take on individuals, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation.

He stated, “DHQ is in the process of reaching out to him to come and substantiate the claims. It is not unusual for emotions to cloud people’s judgment when they have been confronted with a very traumatising experience.

We would get to the bottom of his allegations after we have an audience with him.”

Assuring the public, Major General Buba affirmed the military’s commitment to carrying out their duties professionally and in line with the best international standards.

As the inquiry unfolds, the spotlight remains on the need for transparency and clarity surrounding the complex dynamics contributing to the ongoing crisis in Plateau State.
