Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has said Nigeria could have experienced a different political and national situation if former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, were still active in the country’s political space.

According to Ireporter Online, Musa made the statement on Thursday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme.

The Defence Minister accused El-Rufai of promoting divisive politics, arguing that Nigeria needs leaders who prioritise national unity rather than exploiting differences among citizens.

Musa, while expressing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said his interactions with the President had convinced him that Tinubu was genuinely committed to Nigeria’s development and progress.

He described Tinubu as a leader with a strong passion for the country and a desire to see Nigeria move forward.

Musa said Nigerians should reject political strategies that encourage division and instead concentrate on issues capable of strengthening national unity and development.

He further maintained that the country was entering a new phase and should move beyond political tactics that could deepen existing divisions.

The minister urged Nigerians to focus on what would contribute to the growth and stability of the country, stressing that citizens and political leaders should work collectively toward building a better Nigeria.
