Bauchi Governor’s Son Sparks Outrage with Shocking Twitter Outburst
Shamsuddeen Bala Mohammed, the son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, has ignited a firestorm on social media following a disturbing outburst on Twitter that many have condemned as vulgar and unbecoming. The governor’s son lashed out in reaction to criticism leveled against him by a user identified as Malaika, who accused him of abusing political power and engaging in questionable financial activities.
Using his official Twitter account, @shamsudeen_bala, the younger Mohammed replied with explosive rage, writing, “Are you sick in the head?!… If that’s the case, I allege your mother is a whore and you are a bastard child, and that also makes it true.” The tweet, now widely circulated, has triggered widespread condemnation across social and political circles.
The original post by Malaika had questioned Shamsuddeen’s alleged desperation for political clout and hinted at murky deals. His aggressive response has reignited public debates about his conduct and the potential implications for the image of the Bauchi State Government. According to IREPORTER ONLINE, this is not the first time Shamsuddeen’s behavior has brought his family unwanted attention.
Further fueling the controversy, reports have resurfaced regarding the controversial arrest of Dr. Abubakar Ahmad, a university lecturer who circulated a video of Shamsuddeen dancing with his wife. The incident reportedly laid bare deeper issues of land-grabbing, questionable contract awards, and abuse of state influence, allegedly involving both Shamsuddeen and the First Lady of Bauchi State. Prominent activist Omoyele Sowore has consistently called for accountability, citing the growing impunity of politically connected individuals.
Privately, Governor Bala Mohammed has been quoted expressing regret over his son’s actions, reportedly telling him, “I have repeatedly warned you to stop being childish in your public conduct, but you don’t hear words.” According to IREPORTER ONLINE, the tension has seeped into the governor’s extended family, as evidenced by a public statement from relative Mutawakkil Adamu Mohammed, who lamented, “Shamsu has scandalised our entire family.”
This unfolding drama, now under close public scrutiny, is emblematic of broader concerns surrounding elite impunity and the unchecked influence wielded by children of Nigeria’s political class. According to IREPORTER ONLINE, many citizens are now demanding that appropriate disciplinary actions be taken to curb further embarrassment to both the office of the governor and the image of the state.
