Bobrisky In Hot Water: EFCC Investigates Shocking Bribery Claims By Viral Activist VeryDarkMan!

Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has launched an investigation into allegations of bribery involving popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky. The probe follows claims by social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, that Bobrisky paid ₦15 million to certain EFCC officials to dismiss a money laundering case and ensure he was housed in a private apartment rather than a regular prison during his sentence.

The accusations, made by VeryDarkMan in a viral video, prompted the EFCC chairman to take swift action. According to a statement released by the agency’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, a team of investigators has been formed to thoroughly investigate the claims. Both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan have been summoned to appear at the EFCC’s Lagos office for questioning.

The statement reads: “The EFCC’s Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into bribery allegations involving Idris Okuneye (a.k.a. Bobrisky), as stated in a viral video circulated by Martins Vincent Otse (a.k.a. VeryDarkMan). Okuneye alleged that certain EFCC officers accepted ₦15 million to drop money laundering charges against him.”

The EFCC assured the public that the matter will be fully investigated, and any personnel found guilty will face legal consequences. “The Commission is dedicated to upholding its core values of integrity, courage, and professionalism. The results of the investigation will be made public,” the statement added.

It’s worth noting that Bobrisky was released from prison on August 5, 2024, after serving a six-month sentence for abusing naira notes, following a ruling by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
