The governor stated this on Wednesday during the anniversary lecture as part of the activities to mark his one year in office in Minna.
Bago revealed that the state presently generates N10 billion monthly as IGR, representing over a 100% increase from the N4 billion inherited from previous administrations.
He explained that the ongoing projects spread across the state are just the beginning of the plans for his new Niger agenda, adding, “I am determined to give the best to the people and ensure they benefit from every sector.”
According to him, “When we do these things, don’t thank me. It is your right, it is not a privilege, but your right. It is your right for us to provide you with basic necessities. If you do not have, task us and we will give you. We need to give to society what society has given to us. To achieve this, we need the support of the people.”
The one-year anniversary lectures were delivered by the former Minister of Commerce, Engr. Mustafa Bello, and the former Vice-Chancellor of IBB University, Lapai, Professor Nasiru Maiturare, who both called on the Governor to remain focused on his transformation agenda and to shun all forms of distractions from any quarters.
