BREAKING: Jubilation As Supreme Court Takes Decision On Atiku’s Appeal Seeking Fresh Evidence Against Tinubu (DETAILS)

The Supreme Court has scheduled Monday, October 23, for the hearing of the appeal filed by the People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in his bid to annul President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election.

On the same day, the apex court will also consider Atiku’s motion to introduce fresh evidence demonstrating that President Bola Tinubu allegedly submitted a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

As per a hearing notice obtained by Channels Television on Thursday, the Supreme Court has set 9 am for Atiku’s legal team and that of President Tinubu to present their arguments before its panel of seven Justices, addressing the question of whether the court has the authority to grant this request.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who are co-respondents in the motion, are also scheduled to present their arguments, citing pertinent laws to determine if such a request is permissible under the country’s Constitution and the Electoral Act of 2022.

The documents Atiku is looking to submit are the academic records of Tinubu, which were provided to him by the Chicago State University on Monday, October 2. These 32-page documents were released to Atiku pursuant to the orders of Judge Nancy Maldonado of the District Court of Illinois, Eastern Division, in the United States of America.
