BREAKING: Mission ‘Exposed’ As Shettima Arrives US (DETAILS)

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in the United States of America to participate in the upcoming World Food Prize event scheduled to be held in Iowa.

The event, organized by the Norman E. Borlaug International Dialogue, is set to commence on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

This information was disclosed in a statement released on Sunday by Mister Stanley Nkwocha, the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President).

The Vice President, who holds the special guest status at the event, will also be delivering the keynote address.

During his visit, Vice President Shettima is slated to engage in significant meetings with manufacturers, investors, and key government officials in various states across the US. He aims to leverage this platform to highlight the potentialities and resources of Nigeria’s agricultural sector, attract investors, and advocate for commitments in line with President Bola Tinubu’s objectives and initiatives for Nigeria’s agro-food sector.

Noteworthy African leaders who have previously utilized this event to advocate for agricultural development and food sufficiency in Africa include the late former United Nations Secretary-General and AGRA founder, Kofi Annan, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Presidents Felix Tshishiked and Joaquim Chissano, as well as AfDB President, Akinwunmi Adeshina, among others.
