BREAKING: National Embarrassment As Policemen, Soldiers Fight In Public (VIDEO)

There was chaos earlier this week in Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State when two soldiers and some policemen got into a brawl over an alleged violation of traffic rules.

According to SaharaReporters, the soldiers were riding a motorcycle against traffic when they were stopped by a female police officer. Despite being in the wrong, the army personnel insisted on proceeding, leading to a heated argument between the policewoman and the soldiers.

The verbal exchange escalated into a physical altercation, prompting the policewoman to call for backup.

In a widely circulated video, armed policemen can be seen confronting an unarmed soldier, purportedly for assaulting the policewoman and damaging her uniform.

Sunday Abutu, spokesperson for the Ekiti police, confirmed the incident. He further stated that the two soldiers involved have been apprehended and are currently under investigation.

“Meanwhile, it’s a case of violation of traffic order and serious assault on a policewoman who was performing her lawful duty at the traffic by the two soldiers,” Abutu told SaharaReporters.

“The two military private officers who were on motorcycle were cautioned by the policewoman after they reluctantly passed through one-way traffic. The caution provoked them and they decided to pounce on the policewoman and assaulted her, got her injured and tore her uniform.

“It took the effort of some civilians around to stop the soldiers from escaping before the police reinforcement arrived.”
