BREAKING: Popular Actor, Richard, Is Dead

Renowned United States actor, Richard Roundtree, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 81, surrounded by his family. According to Daily Mail’s report on Wednesday, Roundtree succumbed to a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in New Rochelle, New York in 1942, Roundtree initially distinguished himself as a star football player in high school before enrolling at Southern Illinois University.

However, in 1963, he made the decision to pursue a career in modeling, leading to his departure from university.

Upon relocating to New York City, Roundtree ventured into acting in stage productions during the latter half of the 1960s. It was his pivotal role as the lead character in ‘Shaft’ that truly transformed his career, solidifying him as a highly sought-after figure in both film and television.

Roundtree is most celebrated for his portrayal of the private detective John Shaft in the 1971 film ‘Shaft’ and its subsequent sequels. This portrayal garnered him a nomination for the Golden Globe award for New Star of the Year for the 1971 film.

Throughout his illustrious career, Roundtree graced several classic and beloved films, including “Earthquake” (1974), “Body Of Influence” (1993), “Maniac Cop” (1988), “Se7en” (1995), “George Of The Jungle” (1997), and “Brick” (2005).
