BREAKING: Sad News As Adamu Confirmed Dead
The passing of Alhaji Adamu Fika, the Wazirin Fika, has been reported by Daily Trust.
This news was confirmed by Alhaji Idris Adamu Kukuri, the Danburan of Fika, in a recent phone conversation with Daily Trust.
Details regarding the burial arrangements for the deceased will be announced following consultations with the Emir of Fika, Alhaji Muhammadu Abali.

Family sources and acquaintances have shared that the esteemed statesman, aged 90, passed away last night while being transported back to Nigeria from the United Kingdom, where he had been receiving medical treatment.

Hassan Gimba Ahmed, a close associate of the deceased’s family, mentioned, “He was being brought back home from the United Kingdom in a chartered flight but passed away mid-air. May Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdausi.”
The aircraft landed in Kaduna, and a decision will be made on whether he will be laid to rest there or in Fika, Yobe State.
Born in 1933, the late Adamu Fika was a highly respected elder statesman and accomplished administrator. He served as the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Additionally, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).
His educational journey included attendance at Kaduna Government College (now Barewa College) in Zaria from 1948 to 1951, and the Nigerian College of Arts Science and Technology, Zaria (now Ahmadu Bello University) from 1952 to 1953, where he was one of the pioneering students.
Throughout his career, he held various significant positions, including Provincial Inspector of Education and Provincial Education Officer in Zaria (1960), Inspector of Education in Adamawa Province, Yola (1962), and Principal at the Federal Training Centre (FTC) in Kaduna (1962). He later moved to the federal civil service, where he served as Permanent Secretary in multiple ministries.
Malam Adamu Fika was appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation in January 1986 where he served until he retired from the Federal Public Service in April 1988. His services continued to be sought even after retirement.
Malam Adamu Fika’s contributions were recognized with numerous honors and awards, including the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) by the Federal Government in 1992, and an LL.D Honoris Causa by Bayero University in the same year.
